As the founder and president of Massage Therapy Professionals, Ltd., over the past 4 years I have been part of the wonderful process of "Reducing stress in the workplace and Bringing massage therapy to your location" alongside a great team of talented massage therapists.  Hundreds of individuals have experienced the benefits of massage therapy, some for the first time in their lives, through our convenient and professional on-site massage services.  I am humbled by this accomplishment.

As many of you know, in addition to being a massage therapist and business owner, I am also a full-time academic science researcher.  I am having great successes in my research career, which is both demanding and fulfilling.  However, I am also very committed to my work as a massage therapist.  One thing that I routinely recommend to my massage clients when necessary is to simplify their lives to become more peaceful.  In keeping with my own suggestion, I have decided it is necessary to scale back Massage Therapy Professionals, Ltd.  To be able to balance both vocations and my manage my own well-being, I have decided to focus on individual clients and small client groups over the long term, rather than on larger massage events.  By reducing scale, I can still fulfill my desire to help others live more peaceful lives through massage therapy, yet maintain an effective and manageable life of my own.

Due to the shift in focus of massage efforts, a name change is also necessary.  As of October 1, 2010, Massage Therapy Professionals, Ltd. has changed to CENTERED PRESENCE, LTD., On-Site Massage Therapy by Michael Patrick.  The focus of my new practice is to help you as clients move toward your center and remain fully present through massage therapy.  By "center," I am referring to your own sense of being, in relation to your mind, body & spirit.  By "present," I am referring to focusing your attention to this current moment, where your body functions and where life is genuinely experienced and practically lived.  This new focus has grown out of my own approach to living my life and thus influences my massage work with clients, who often share these same aims.

With the name change also comes a new website, www.centeredpresence.com, which will be online soon; and a new email contact, michael@centeredpresence.com, which becomes active within the next few days.  Contact by phone contact remains the same, 412-608-9269.

Operationally, all gift certificates, promotional certificates and prepaid massage packages issued through Massage Therapy Professionals, Ltd. will be honored in full by CENTERED PRESENCE, LTD.  To clarify, through CENTERED PRESENCE, LTD., I will continue to offer on-site chair & table massage for individual clients and chair massage for small groups.  Chair massage for larger groups remains an option under the appropriate circumstances.
